The Narrow Road
Have you ever been upon a mountain top and having to travel on the road in which was set out before you.? This road was the only road in which would take you to the other side of that mountain? I can say that I have. I was on a mission trip with a team of missionaries and we were in a van traveling across this mountain-top to get to our destination. The fog was extremely thick that night, you could maybe see two feet in front of you. We had one of our local team members get out of the van and walk us step by step upon this narrow mountain road. Our van was traveling at the most, maybe one mile an hour. This lasted a good 45 minutes, traveling closely and following each step this man took. Step by step, we followed the lead where we needed to go. We made it safely to our destination, and a huge lesson was taught to me that night.
There will be times in each of our lives where we cannot see where we are going, but the Lord promises to take us each step of the way as we follow closely to Him and His Word, which will lead us step by step. In Matthew 7:14 He says, “The gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.” I am not sure about you, but I want to be one of the ones that stay on this narrow road, no matter how difficult it may get. He promises to lead us step by step, revealing His light upon each step we take, following closely as He leads.
“His word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Keep close to Him.” – Psalm 119:105
The Lord says to you, “Stay strong, stay alert, stay close to me. Stay close to My Word, as this will continue to map out the path of which you are to follow. It has already been paved for you, but in order for you to know and see what is ahead for you, continue to follow my Word closely, as confirmations will continue to come forth. The road is getting narrower my child, can you not see it? You are being asked of from Me…..there is so much more in front of you. It will continue to become narrower and less and less people on this road my child. Be strong and courageous, have I not commanded you? Will you trust in Me to lead you, even though at times your eyes cannot see what is in front of you?”
As for me, I will trust in Him. I know that I am determined to keep close to Him and not give up, and to stay very close to Him and His Word as He leads me forth. His promises are true. These are for you too. He will surely show us the way, but we have to trust in Him, just as our team did that night on that foggy narrow road upon that mountain. The Lord promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us, and I believe this. Will you trust in Him to lead you each and every moment of your life? Will you be determined to keep His decrees to the very end? Even though the road may be hard, He promises He will be with us.
Things to remember:
• Our strength is in the Lord
• Stay alert to things around you
• Stay very close to Him
• Stay in His Word
• Follow Him and His leading, step by step
